Give me your thoughts :)

SO, for all those people out there who check our blog and like paper crafting I want to know what you think. I am a novice card maker but hoping to aspire to more so I am posting some pictures of a few cards I have made in hopes you will give me your feed back. Some of them are not completely finished yet but the ideas are there. If you have anything to say...such as if you like/don't like them or would change the layout of the card or any other thoughts, send them my way.

This one is not complete, it needs a lot more embellishing or something...but it is suppose to be a birthday card.Valentines is just around the corner and I am getting a jump start on the holiday. I like the concept of the "Love Monkey" but Jon tells me the colors are not quite right, what would you do differently? This is one of the first ones I put together and I like it as a prototype and will probably stick with this idea...maybe tweak it a little.

This is a baby card, I realize after that you can't tell if it is for a boy or girl because it has both pink and blue, I have yet to put the lettering on it but it will say something like "Baby" or "Congrats" or "Girl".

This is the latest one I have done and personally my favorite...okay, I admit I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning putting this together...hey, when you have kids...the only peace and quiet I get to my self usually happens at that time of the morning. The colors on this card are a pale lime green and a light faded gray which are really complimentary. What girl doesn't like shopping for shoes ?!

This is a large tag with a background of light pink and the frog is a faded green with pink spots and a pink tummy. Cute and simple (sorry, I don't know how to rotate the picture)
Thanks for your comments in advance

Love the cards! They are darling. You mentioned that the birthday card needed a little embellishing. Have you considered using those "pop-dots" under the cupcake? That would push that out a little. Also, I like to matt the central emellishment on white paper. I think it adds a little more dimension and a finished look. But, I do think your cards look awesome! :)

Cute cards Sarah... I must not know anything about cards if even your husband is telling you that some colors are off on one of them.. they all looked ADORABLE to me! haha. I made a bunch of thank you cards for my baby shower (long time ago).. and used those "pop-dots" actually, I'm not sure if that's what they were called, but same idea, just really thick, double sided tape that makes an embellishment stick out a bit and it was really cute... so, I'd agree with your friend who suggested it. :)

Those are cute... I think on the baby cards do shades of pink or blue and embellish with yellow and or green and purple. Then they seem more gender specific. I like the monkey one but it needs a banana LOL. Where are you guys now anyway because if you are in pullman we should definitely meet up or something and let the kids play. I am still in Lewiston.

Sarah, I think the cards are great! You are very creative. And I like the colors on all of them. I like the idea of a generic baby card, that way you can use it for anyone =) It's so fun to be creative!

Sarah! I LOVE your cards- they are creative fun and super cute!! I really liked the baby card- if you are thinking about mass production then the creativity of those would be a great "baby" card for either. I still like them no matter what. The Valentines cards are really cute- the monkey love thing is adorable. They are Browns and Reds and Cream? How about some hot pink...? They are all great- and the tag is a cute idea. Keep up the great work!! I hope to see more!

Thanks for all of the comments I have had so far...funny thing is that some of you pointed out a few things I have been thinking about already! I guess when someone else has the same thougt it must be a great idea.
Aleca, you kind of got to the point as well, I have been thinking about making cards and selling them on-line just to see what would happen. I got a really cool thing for Christmas it is called a "Cuttlebug" and it cuts out shapes and letters for scrapbooking and card making. I love it and it is sooo much fun...well at least I think so :)
Keep the suggestions coming. When I get some more ideas going I will post them.
Love ya all,
Sarah
